Peter Kubilus is a professional architectural photographer. For over ten years he has worked closely with architects, interior designers, contractors, and design professionals photographing their work here in New York City and across the United States. Architectural photography is very technical while it allows you to be creative with geometry, light, and color. His extensive knowledge of architecture allows him to translate the designers’ work into a single cohesive portfolio. Peter has photographed a range of work that includes residential, commercial, educational and institutional, architectural product, and lighting. His award winning work has been featured and published extensively in- print and online.

Peter admires and uses Saarinen, Ellsworth Kelly and the director Michael Mann to influence his work. His work is very clean, balanced, and blends methods from film photography. It is collaboration between the designer and Peter to rebuild the environment into a well-composed frame. Peter's work is entirely custom and he uses proper lighting techniques to activate the space so you can see the texture in fabrics, color in glass, and reduce reflections.  It takes a lot of time to get a single shot.  He will not take a shot until it is perfect in the frame.

He studied both photography and architecture at Drexel University and combined the two to have a greater understanding of the field. He has also lectured at Drexel on numerous occasions about photography and on the business end of being an artist. He teaches photography privately as well. Peter is actively involved with many organizations promoting design education and after school programs. He was on the host committee for the 2008 and 2011 Party @theCenter at the Center for Architecture.
